I thought about that but I have no idea how such a system works or could be made. I assume I could NOT convert a small boiler to a pressurized steam system so I’d have to buy one
More to research

I cannot thank you all for the extremely kind outpouring of support. This was a very upsetting experience and I hope it can serve as a good cautionary tale for others.
I am extremely blessed to have a lot of plants and some really really good people to help me out. Truly thanks gang

i am adding more pics just so i have the way to share this with people to warn them...these are taken over the last week.....i can say for sure that all the chemical is off the roof but this is the result.
i think most plants will survive, but so many were set back to nothing or lost half or more of their colony...

I've just come across this thread, that is truly awful what has happened to your collection. I like your attitude though, you won't be beaten.
Good luck with the regrowth.

Such a shame. I would be sending before and after photos to my local politician to ask for something to be done about the harsh chemicals in the future, with great emphasis on the environmental impact etc etc.
Do people in your area use rainwater tanks for drinking? I know there are some people who prefer rainwater to what the local water authority provides.
The roof cleaning result is not good in so many ways.

Diane - it is a funny thing you mentioned this because there is some sort of nefarious relationship between the code enforcement and laborers in this area, to wit, my neighbor across the street and I always joke about how we get flyers from pressure washing companies and then violations like a week later.
I was joking with the clerks at the city hall over the phone and one said completely seriously that the overwhelming majority of complaints to code are from "anonymous citizen" or a name that does not match a neighbor. so i suspect that the various roof cleaning, driveway repair, fence repair and lawn companied are calling code enforcement just to drum up business in the region?!?!
makes me NEVER want to call the companies with the flyers if they are the ones who are calling in complaints
the city does not allow for the collection of rainwater (not because of run off laws or drought, they feel they are ugly) i have three barrels

Any luck sending bills to these idiots? Or getting credit card company to go after them and hit them in the wallet? Whatever they are using it is a crime against nature. I know it's Florida, not only the chemicals are toxic, but...

Short answer, no
I am boned on this one. I called the guys and really calmly explained that they had done a massacre and the guy basically asked what I expected him to do about it. This was not what I expected and so I asked if they were insured and he said only for if someone falls off a roof...
I know the end of this story so I just threatened to give bad reviews on social media. He offered to come and help me do some replanting and was generally sympathetic but that was it
