Default "Happy Sap" on Catesetum spikes. Is this okay?

I noticed my Monnierara Millennium Magic 'Witchcraft' new spikes , both has that "happy sap" on them.

Last year, when I first bought this guy I lost it's spike due to spider mites so I'm a bit paranoid about this.

I searched around the boards and found a post where it was said that happy sap on spikes is okay? This was from 2014.
How to stop Phal from secrete "happy sap"?

I'm just checking that this is still the case?

Last year's spike was lost and I would really love to see this guy bloom this year so just checking.

I keep these guys in a high humidity area ( 50 to 55% ) and there are some small fans going. I'm thinking about giving the guy a shower and wash the sap off just to be safe but I also thought I would ask.

Thank you,
Cym

The sap is normal and a sign of a healthy plant. Congrats on the double spike!

Totally agree, the sap is normal. The main thing it attracts is aphids... if those appear then a good spraying with your favorite insecticide, or even soapy water will control them. But just watch... no need to treat if there is no problem.
