Fungus on my Encylia alata?
One of this year's new growth of my Encyclia alata is rapidly browning (see pictures below). It started about 10 days ago at the pseudobulb and is moving up. The pseudobulb and leaves are dry, rigid, and do not smell bad. I therefore believe it is a fungal infection. However, I would appreciate a second opinion from the people in here with more experience than I do.
I am planning to repot the plant while removing a few pseudobulbs behind the one that is affected. Then I plan to treat the plant with Thiomyl for many weeks. Does that sound like a good plan?
Thank you for your help!
