Mealy Bugs On Orchids. Something other than imidacloprid? Female
Default Mealy Bugs On Orchids. Something other than imidacloprid?

I found a mealy bug on my orchid and a succulent I have. It's only one on my succulent and one I found on my orchid as well as I think scale. Ugh.

Currently I started with a water, isopropyl alcohol, dish soap and neem mix that I read may help since at the moment it seems like the very start of an issue but I read here that this homemade option may not work with mealy bugs.

I also am worried that it may hurt my orchid . My orchid is a catesetum and last year a different catesetums ended up with spider mites and it didn't survive the spidermite infestation. It came back this year thankfully.

I was searching this board and Imidacloprid is recommended but when I Google for it. Bayer Advance 3 in 1 comes up along with other brands of insecticide. None show to have this as it's active ingredient.

I found info on it that says products Admire, Condifor, Gaucho, Premier, Premise, Provado, and Marathon have it as the active ingredients but these are all pro products and I think out of reach for someone like me.
Imidacloprid

So I'm not sure how to find Imidacloprid . Is there an option that I can pick up at a Home Depot, Lowes or Amazon?

The big box stores don't carry imidacloprid. Go to a small local hardware store.

Thank you! I don't know why that didn't come up in any of my searching.

I'm going to cancel my order of BioAdvanced Science-Based Solutions Yard Insecticide for this instead.

Thank you!!
