I bet you shake your head about youngsters not learning in school nowadays. If you can't do percentages how will you know how much the government takes out of your paycheck?

Too much alcohol... I use a 5% solution (that's 5 parts alchool and 95 water)

I use straight 70% rubbing alcohol... just stick a sprayer in the bottle. Doesn't seem to hurt anything, even flowers. Does a number on mealy bugs, and is pretty good on aphids too.

I also use 70% straight out of the bottle. The only precaution I take is avoid treating the plants in a spot where there is a lot of air movement (so not outdoors) as it supposedly increases the evaporative cooling effect which can damage the tissues of thin leafed orchids. If it's true or not I don't know, since I play it same and use the rubbing alcohol indoors!

Kinda off-topic... kinda not... When Covid reared its ugly head, there was such an alcohol shortage. I was attending PT, and another client there was saying she couldn't find any, and her husband required it for putting on his prosthetic leg. (No idea why.)

I had her drop by my house after PT and pick up a couple of bottles. Who knew raising orchids and having a dozen bottles of rubbing alcohol on hand would become hoarding?

I actually had a similar thing happen. I buy in bulk so I can save and to avoid shopping. When COVID hit us I had just gone to bjs and I had so much paper product lol
I think all of my neighbors have needed some at this point
