You can mix what you have on hand. Bark and moss. That's what I use.

Some people with high humidity and good warmth can grow Phals in glass vases. They fill the vase with water every day or two, and let the plant soak for a few hours. Then they drain it. It's more trouble than growing in pots, but it can work.

Use the Search function above, Advanced Search, to look up posts by member Helene. She grew some Phals this way.
