PS And if you had it in the terrarium for three weeks, I'd treat the others in the terrarium were it me. Ray or ES or someone could tell you what to treat with, if they concur.
Thank you all for the input. Much appreciated.

It was in there for 3 weeks but in seemingly perfect health. This all occured after I treated it for an unknown nymph pest, by soaking it for an extended time. I can treat the others. I have some yellowing on the newest growth of my Den Unicum after also treating it for the pest (note, all treatments done in seperate containers to prevent any contanimation). Same method of extended soaking. I was misinformed on how to go about all this. I am attaching some pics for reference.

I hope I didn't give you, or anybody, the idea of soaking plants for more than 24 hours, nor with more than a small amount of dish detergent. I think I always mention not to soak for more than 24 hours, and usually less. If I led you to think you could soak for more than 24 hours, I'm very sorry.

What you are seeing could be caused by Erwinia, and could also be caused by suffocation from being submerged too long. Erwinia is a bacterium. It specializes in attacking damaged or unhealthy plants. The affected parts look wet, and are mushy. Erwinia species generally don't attack healthy plants growing in good conditions unless the plant is damaged, and the bacterium has a way to get inside the plant. Once an infection starts it is almost impossible to cure, partly because the plants was already sick. This is why it is more important to keep good growing conditions than use fungicides or bactericides. High humidity and lack of day-night temperature cycling in terrariums can be hard on plants, and lead to sudden infection. Very good (fan-induced) air circulation helps.

You mentioned the discolored leaves on your Tricho were still firm. That makes me think drowning is more likely than Erwinia infection.

There are many Erwinia species, most specific only to one host species. Erwinia-infected plants usually smell extremely bad. If your plants don't stink right now, it is more likely the damage is drowning rather than Erwinia.

The other thing I might mention is that trying to keep plants completely free of spots and tiny jumping things often leads to overtreating and damage to plants. I only treat bugs that I know are damaging my plants.

I soaked it for about 20 hours, but also I realized after this should be used on larger and more mature plants. My rinky dinky tiny seedling needed way way less time. No one's fault, I am learning still and best way to do this is through trial and error!

Ill get another one someday. Most disappointing thing is that Hasuermann still hasn't answered my three emails about this, mostly to alert them of posaible pests in their greenhouse. Ah well.

The plant doesnt stink so I think you are right about tbe drowning.

The tiny bugs you saw are nearly impossible to eliminate, even with heavy spraying of toxic chemicals. You are likely to find them on plants from most vendors if you look closely enough. I would not worry about bugs other than spider mites, which are in almost every plant collection all around the world; mealy bugs; scale, and snails.

nzadro ------- if you haven't got them yet, consider adding Montery Garden Phos to your orchid medical kit. Also, maybe copper spray products suitable for orchids. And cleary's 3336 (thiomyl), and mancozeb, and captan.

But could start off with Garden Phos, and copper spray.
