Default Dark splotchy markings on my new Renanthera's leaves

Hi all! It's my first post here! (yay!)

I just purchased this Renanthera Brookie Chandler on eBay and it arrived on Friday. I noticed that it's upper right leaf looks splotchy with dark green areas and light green areas (image nelow).

Does this look like some sort of fungus? virus? Is this something to be concerned about?

I treated the orchid with a hydrogen peroxide spray and a physan 20 spray.

Should I cut off the leaf and dab cinnamon on the cut?

First, Welcome!

I don't see anything for you to worry about. Perhaps there was a bit of mechanical damage, or maybe cold. Don't cut the leaf. I think it will be fine. Observe... if it doesn't spread, all is well. If it does, possibly a systemic fungicide could help. (Others on the forum have a lot more experience with those, there are some effective ones around) The surface treatments probably won't do much.

I’d lay off the hydrogen peroxide unless you dilute it way down or apply it surgically to breaks. It can cause unintended tissue damage, especially if it gets on the roots.

I’d quarantine it and wait and see. I had similar spotting on an Oncidium type I bought off eBay due to cold damage. With cold damage it’ll get worse as the damaged/dead tissue degrades but it won’t spread. I gave mine a couple weeks for the damage to develop to see which parts were totally dead before I did some light trimming of affected leaves.

In my case, I elected to chance shipping without a heat pack so I knew I was taking a gamble.
