Hi everyone,
So this orchid seemed to be doing ok until I noticed some black spots under the botom leaves. What could that be? Should I cut the leaf off or let it be? I don’t think it’s spreading but I have to keep an eye on it since I recently noticed this problem. I’m so sad, Orchids just don’t want to live in my house

It's most likely from irregular watering, or cold water splashed on the leaves long before you got it. If it spreads then there's cause for worry.

I agree with Dolythehun. It looks like old damage. It is also possible that something (like tiny bush snails) did some munching, again probably before you got the plants. Since you repotted, if there was a pest like that in the mix (they are very common) you no doubt got rid of them. Those roots look great - whatever indignities the plant suffered before you got it, looks like it is growing nicely now. (Don't worry about the roots growing out the bottom, they are getting water from above and grow quite happily in the air. )
