Snails and using nematodes?

So I had my orchid outsids all summer and now have snails. I really don't want to repot, and I'm wondering about using nematodes as prest control. Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita - Wikipedia. Any one try this, thoughts

No first-hand knowledge here, but let me throw out a few comments:

Nematodes tend to be soil-borne critters, so I don't know how well they would survive in an open mix used for orchids.

Even if they do, how sure are you that that you have the correct species for the type of snails?

If both of those clear, I don't imagine it's a particularly quick way to get rid of them.

Consider a pesticide containing measurol.

I used to have snail problems in my cattleyas. Because we have pets I had to be careful what I chose to control them. After experimenting I found that if I watered my plants in the evening so they were wet and waited until about midnight the snails would come out crawling and I could actually find some of them up on the new roots. These snails were the very tiny ones I hear people refer to as bush snails. They won’t eat bait. So now it is midnight I fill my back pack sprayer with 3 percent hydrogen peroxide about two gallons. Cheap stuff. I sprayed over 300 pots just the medium not the foliage until I saw a few drips come out bottom of pot. If you collect a few snails and put them in a jar with a little hydrogen peroxide you will observe that as soon as they come out of their protective shell they instantly dissolve and their insides explode. If you are worried about hurting your plants with the peroxide try experimenting on one or two plants that you are not too fond of. I have never damaged my cattleyas doing this. If I notice a few snails have escaped the treatment I spray again in a few weeks. This also gets any new hatchlings. Snails are so destructive on roots your plants will never thrive. Experiment on a plant you know has snails in the medium and observe closely.

I immerse my pots in warm soapy water. They'll either crawl out and you can kill them, or they'll drown.

just gonna slide in here but would these work on ground orchids too i've got some vanilla ovalis cuttings that are just starting to get rooted but the soil has snails
