What is eating new growth on oncidiums

I have 3 oncidiums, all in the same general area of my patio that have something that seems to be gnawing away at the new growth. I live in S. Florida, so there are chameleons around, but I've never seen those little fellas eat anything green.

Anybody with any guesses?

Grasshoppers, roaches...there are any number of insects that love those leaves.

Hello Ray - I've never seen any of those critters around either, unless they only come out at night.

They do... especially slugs and snails (the former can be really good at hiding) When I see that sort of thing, I reach for my Sluggo Plus ... it has iron phosphate that goes after slugs and snails, and Spinosad that goes after caterpillars.

If it's slugs or snails, you should see a bit of a residual slime trail.

Snails yes. I find slugs sneakier. I often find them without the trails... and gladly remove and dispatch. I even find them in unlikely places like hanging plants... they do probably crawl down wires but maybe they fly...
