Spots on the leaves og my Zygopetalum Rhein Moonlight
Hello,
I am fairly new to the orchid hobby and recently purchased a Zygopetalum Rhein Moonlight in spike. She graced me with beautiful flowers and has become one of my fav. However, when examining her Sunday I noticed she has black spots forming on 3 of her leaves. One of the spots is kind of close to the bulb and another also has tiny spots underneath. She looks fine and still has her blooms but I am worried she is sick. If anyone can help me determine what is gong on it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Zigos are prone to leaf spotting. Usually high humidity and poor air movement are the main causes.
Even if one meets these two requirements, there might be some spotting.
I have a zigo outside, under the rain and wind in winter and, even though, it gets some spots. Not much but some.
I have mine in a fairly humid environment, with good circulation. I still get spots. It comes with the turf, I think. Mine just finished blooming 5 spikes, so I know it's healthy.
