Default S. fragrans leaf spot

Hi all,

I received this new schoenorchis fragrans less than one week ago with a spot on the leaf that I didn't initially pay much attention to, but the more I look at it the more concerned I am.

Do you all think that it is something to be concerned about (rot, fungus/bacteria, etc)? Do i need to quarantine the plant?

Personally, I wouldn’t be too concerned. It looks like it’s probably be a secondary infection from some sort of damage (sun/heat burn, mechanical damage, ect..). If the spot is dry and not getting any larger you could just ignore it. If it the dark patch is spreading, or if you are very concerned, you can just cut the leaf off below the black part. Just water carefully and keep that area dry for a bit to let it ‘scab’ over so a that a new infection does not set in through the open wound

Ok, thanks. I have also uploaded a larger image (and in the correct orientation) to help with viewing. Does this change your opinion at all?

Thanks!!

Nope. I can’t tell from the picture if the border around the spot is still growing but I would just keep an eye on it or cut the leaf off below it if it looks like it might be getting worse. As long as you keep that area dry when you water if there is an open wound (I know...kind of hard to do with this little guy) it should be ok
