Strange coloration on new phal leaf

Greetings,

So one of my phals has this strange coloration on the bottom side of a new leaf. Can't seem to find anything that looks like this in any pictures on the Internet or in any of my books.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is it soft and squishy? When you water your phal does water ever get on the leafs and sit for a while before evaporating? Looks to me like bacterial brown rot but I am no expert.

Thanks, Orchidbro - no that area does not appear to be soft and mushy. I try not to allow water to stay on the leaves for very long after watering which is generally done early in the day, and my phals are kept under cover, so rain getting to them is unlikely.

Can you post pictures of the plant from other angles, please? That one photo limits the opportunity to analyze things.

I guess my question is: Is this plant worth saving or should I toss it?
