As long as you put the humidifier (which is only like the size of a quarter or half-dollar) in the center of the tray, you won't get any splashing outside the tray. You may get some fog rolling off, but as long as you have good air circulation in the room, that shouldn't be a problem. Plus, if you have the tray crowded with enough plants, you hardly get any of that either.

Thanks I need to try this perhaps. Does that mean I get to get more orchids so the plants are crowded?
