Default Float valve malfunction

Well... I finally figured out why I wasn't getting much RO pressure in the house. I set up my indoor grow-room for the summer (for pleurothallids and besseaes), and turned on my jaybird fogger. Turns out that the float valve that keeps the water reservoir filled doesn't shut off when the float is up. The tank just keeps filling with water (precious RO water, in this case), and sloshes out the overflow.

The way I see it, I have three options:

1) Replace the float valve: Assuming I knew where to find one, which I don't...

2) Fix the float valve: Can these be fixed? I was going to try to take it apart tonight.

3) Re-plumb it to take tap water: Heck, the excess water just drains away anyway... This is relatively easy, but I'd need a way to down-regulate the pressure, since the house is at much higher pressure than the RO tank. And of course it would leave white dust everywhere...

Any thoughts? One of you plumbing experts have an idea? Marty, you are the mist guy...

Thanks

Rob

For float valves,

www.airwaterice.com Float Valve
or
Mini PVC Float Valves - US Plastic Corporation

AirWaterIce's cartridges and membranes are a pretty good deal too. Using two of the 150GPD RO membranes with no problems.
