Charred wood
Has anyone ever used charred wood or know if it would be bad or not? I figured that since charcoal was good as a medium, why not use charred wood, since that is what charcoal is any whos.

I believe 'Orchid Charcoal' is treated or something, its different somehow. I'd be a little worried about unwanted chemicals in just burnt wood. I'll let someone who knows what their talking about make the call :P

I will be interested in how this goes, seeing as how toxins can build up/be created during scorching/burning- as explained in the thread I linked. I hope it works out!
