Hi Carolyn

I plan to post picture of the orchidarium in the beggining of next week, i do not want to hijack your post, and I do not have the time before. The plan is to take detail pictures of my solutions.
About fans, I found a fan for computercases from ADDA, model number AQ1212DB-A73GL, that should be waterresistent! I have a 120 mm (4''?) fan but they do it in different sizes.

Carolyn, try Coralife 3-1/8" Cooling Fan Kit They also have 4 3/4" fans. They are 12 volt therefore safe to use in wet environment.

I used plain construction-grade silicone because I only added 8" to the top of my glass aquarium. If I were to build from scratch I would use the WO#40 stuff. I built a jig from plywood to assure square corners and did one corner each 24 hours. When done I used small aluminum angle material and siliconed that to outside. Pretty ugly actually. Then I used an old storm window pane for the top. For me, this job is merely a learning tool to see what I need in my final which I am faving fabricated by the same company Marty used for his tanks. See picture of my setup here

Now I'm working out logistics for lighting. I'm hoping to wire the fans and lighting to a general switch station where I can do everything at the flip of a few switches.
