whole shelf trays
my wife is blind and it is some work for her to lift each orchid and water it over a bucket to flush it. Plus she has a hard time keeping some of them in the pot that are freshly potted in bark. the s/h are even harder for her to to manage them and dump the dray and then flush them.
so I came up with full table trays. they have taped slots running to a hose fitting. I will run a tube out of the house and they can drain in the plant beds. I was going to have them drain in a bucked but it is hard for her to dump them when they get full and sometimes the dog will try to drink out of them and knock them over.
I made these out of spare material I have in my shop. I used a material called sintra of expanded pvc. it is a pvc foam board lighter then solid pvc and less expensive.
I wanted to do it all out of white sintra but I did not have enough for the edges. my wife won't notice and no one else would so all it cost me is some time and a couple tubes of silicone glue and some screws. I glued and screwed the edges on then sealed around them just to make sure. Now we can take the trays out and she can water them in place and flush them easier. I should have them installed this weekend. the largest one is about 8'x20"
one cool thingI can easily make and attach trellis to it s oI don't have to try to wire up pots.
