Default Autumn bloomers stepping up

Several of my autumn bloomers are starting up their spikes for this season.

Bc little Mermaid 'Janet' has a nice big sheath with the silhouettes of buds just starting to show (not visible in photo)

Cycnodes Wine delight 'Jem' is a clone from hausermanns I got this summer. Was not expecting flowers this fall but it looks like a spike is forming. Can't wait to experience its fragrance.

Bulbophyllum medusae has got some spikes pushing out, my third year with this plant.

Bulbophyllum rufinum put out two fat pseudobulbs this summer and it looks like spikes are swelling at the base of each one.

Bulbophyllum lovely Elizabeth is the famous Elizabeth Ann hybrid crossed back to Bulb. rothschildianum. Two bulbs are showing spikes and this will be the first time this plant has bloomed for me. Originally received as a two-bulb cutting two years ago. Especially thrilled about this one.

Vanda pachara delight has gotten a bit too much sun but it has responded with more than 10 spikes and more on the way.

Thanks for looking. Should be a very pretty show in the next couple months!

How exciting for you! I thoroughly enjoy watching others orchids grow and bloom. I'll be watching for yours, it will be a beautiful show, no doubt. Congratulations!

Congrats on all your spikes. My wine delight is also just starting a spike. Will be first bloom for me.

A couple more can be added to the spike list!

One of my Phals has those tell-tale nubbins poking out from in between the leaves. First Phal to spike this season.

Also, very exciting, Amesiella monticola appears to have spikes pushing out both sides of the stem. This plant was our project plant on OB last year but lots of people killed theirs. Not mine! Hope it continues on to bloom!

Lots of action there! I'll look forward to the blooms when the time comes.

Temps have dropped dramatically today, from low 30°s to mid 20°s (C). Finally some crisp autumn air has broken through the relentless summer heat.

The orchid spikes are growing right along, although with the cooler temps, I have to think about bringing them indoors within a few weeks. Summer outdoor grow season is coming to an end.

Cycnodes Wine Delight 'Jem'

Brassocatanthe Little Mermaid 'Janet' -- buds are just poking out of the sheath.

Bulbophyllum medusae has some bulbs with TWO spikes this year, a first for me

Bulbophyllum rufinum

Bulbophyllum Lovely Elizabeth

Amesiella monticola

Vanda Pachara Delight

And a couple of Phals too.

Woohoo! Excited about all of these!
