Den. Yukidaruma 'King', an older Yamamoto hybrid.

I purchased two of these in pots from the grower that was closing down because of the lava threat about a year ago.
They were in very poor condition and the flowers on the plants were discolored, they has a strong yellow cast to what should have been the white areas.

I mounted it here as soon as its flowers faded.
The PB with the 6 open flowers looks to be a normal basal type growth.
All the other growing PBs appear to be keikis from higher up the PBs.
Some also have buds that will be opening soon.

It's not a well grown or very good looking Yamamoto hybrid, but it is still alive. Plus, its color is now more normal and its condition is improving.

I love it when dendrobiums and other types are let to grow as they would in nature, they are never in such "military" lines and such that we humans impose on them with wires and sticks.

It is good to see the crazy sprawl of a lazy orchid taking in the sun while the geckos scamper across their lethargic limbs.

(that's a form of Haiku, can't remember which)

Gorgeous, I love that purple spot.
