Guess What Orchid I'm Planting Here!
I just did a little project since the rain has apparently stopped. I terraced in a native white pine tree on the NW facing slope in my back yard with a wall built of some found stone. The wall is a bit over 1' tall. I dug out behind the wall until I hit tree roots, and backfilled with a mix that started out 1 part peat, 1 part perlite, and 3 parts sand. With that I mixed two parts pine needles. For reference I live in SE PA.

Pleiones? I read an article recently published by the aos about growing these in artificial bogs and this reminded me of it.

Some Cyps are found naturally growing by pine trees but I seem to remember you pursuing something else.....

These definitely orchids, and native ones at that!

Cyps were my guess too! Are they doing well?
