My mother would like to mount some orchids on trees in her garden. She already chose some that would fit our climate but now I don't know which tree would be the best. It is always in the intermediate there with lists of humidity but the problem is it can get quite shady in the summer if the sun is under the clouds due to large trees. Luckily they lose there leaves close to fall and of is sunny all winter but still with some shade do to the thick tree stems.
She chose an epidendrum fulgens and dendrobium stuposum. Would it be best to grow the epidendrum in the ground or better mounted? And how should I do this?
Below are the two candidates
Tree1: no idea what it is but we call them "hemelbesems"
Tree2: commonly called the "frangepani"
