Lightbulb Planning an outdoor watering system

I live in SWFL and my orchids live outside on the lanai. During the rainy season I have no issues with making sure that everyone is getting the appropriate amount of water, but I can't say the same for the dry season. Over the last few years they've suffered because I just can't get the watering right and since I'm using the hose I'm wasting a lot of water.

Putting together an automatic watering system has been on my agenda for quite some time, but until I converted part of my sprinkler system to a drip system when I put new landscaping in I didn't realize how easy it'd be. If I had I could have save myself a lot of heartache.

Anyway, my biggest problem right now is where to find flexible white 1/2" tubing that I could use around the top rail of my pool cage. Do any of you have a preferred vendor for things like this? I've checked Mist King's site and he doesn't carry white. I need something that can deal with the FL sun and heat since my lanai gets sun all day. I don't want to use PVC pipe both because of cost and because it won't be as easy to expand.

Any hints and tips from people that have done this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I don't know about where you are, but where I am, Lowes sells misting systems with all kinds of mist heads, flexible white (yellowish white) hoses. They have kits and separate pieces. Do you have a Lowes?

I do have a Lowe's quite close. I might be mistaken but I thought the tubing was only 1/4". I'll go take a look again just to be sure though.
