Schombergkia Species on the Palms Project
Got a few Shombs (I know species names have changed, don't get me started on the DNA clumpers) from a local grower. I adorned the trunks of a some Bactris palms in the garden for this project. I have columbiana, tibicinis, grandiflora, thomsoniana, christinia, humboltii, leuddemanniana and a thomp/humbol cross.

I assume you are referring to the monster Oncidium sphacelatum. It is in its final position, hanging at the head of my circular..ish driveway that encloses a large native plant area with lots large jungly trees. It hangs from a chain out on a limb of a monster Strangler Fig....a monster hanging on a monster. It gets pretty much full morning sun and shaded in the afternoon.

Mounts and monster oncidium look awesome. Oncidum looks like it could swallow a Volkswagen and its beautiful even without blooms.
