Whoever lived in the old house put them there. The mule ears sat dejected for years in a too shady part of the yard. I strapped them on a small oak in the yard last year and they have taken off. I'm a fan of mule ear oncidiums, which are now called trichocentrum. Take good care of those since they have a history. No telling how long the previous owner had them. I have one that's in spike right now.

Wow, looking awesome!
By the way, I've moved your post to the 'Outdoor Gerdening' section rather than the intros section as that's probably more appropriate and hopefully more people will see it

You have certainly made the most of your space. I love to see how others create growing areas in limited outdoor spaces....like mine. Very cool!

Wow!! So beautiful!! If only I could live in a tropical place, and have my very own rainforest in my backyard!

Many many thanks Eskevingo for sending me this interesting mix - on the way to me as a surprise Monk Orchid, Peacock Orchid, Pigeon (Dove) orchid and Den. Faciferum. People on this boar are just awesome, and your collection of NEARLY 300 species is impressive! Will post pics once they arrive.

That's a wonderful growing space and they all look so healthy and well-cared for.
