SydneyH -Yikes! You guys in the US have some brutal sized wasps. They really creep me out. Thanks goodness for our -30° C winter temps - it knocks our wasps down in size!

Lets see who is our garden......loads of spiders (jewel and crab, and rabbits visiting most days)

Oscarman: Yeah, the weeds grow bigger too. This particular wasp was relatively harmless. She was much more interested in grabbing a drink and scraping the bark in my Maxillaria. The yellow jackets can be pretty cranky though. Your pictures remind me that I haven't seen the rabbits in my yard lately.

"Daring jumping spider"

These seem to love hanging out in the outside orchids, and scare the *bleep* out of me when I am watering and they jump out! Usually very timid - they just try to hide, so haven't been able to get any pix of them before - this one was much bolder - I could see him enjoying the water droplets left on the plant after watering, and then he jumped off the plant, onto my spray bottle - I convinced him to go back onto the plant by pushing the sprayer right next to some plant foliage. He hopped around some more, and then looked like he was thinking about jumping onto me!

These are bigger (at least much more heavy bodied) than other spiders around here (at least the ones I see!), - just under an inch long. Relatively harmless - bite can cause a localized reaction - swollen itchy area.

neat bugs and aminals ..

ans YES thats a praying mantis egg case indeed.. bought a few of them from the local nursery along with some lady bugs of whom I cant find any of them now. But watchin a lady bug traverse a plant is most amazing. They dont miss much and nose all around the leafs and crevices. Im not using pesticides any more trying to use beneficial insects and reptiles. Im making a micro food chain..heh..

This guy loves Ritz Crackers I tell ya.Came out today hes stretched out like a dog on the porch. Gave him his cracker and he ran off. I went back inside got my watering can and came back..Here he is again for another cracker..Okey here ya go...Repeat this about 4 times now and Im curious whats he doing with the crackers. I go look for him and find him around the corner with a jar of peanut butter

I Love all your garden buddies !!!
