Default Now heres a shade bench mister

okey youve seen HER shade house..now here my shade bench with built in misting system. Its not done yet. I dont have blueprints I just stick stuff together and see if it fits and move it around..Made from scrap PVC from work, 2 8 ft douglas fir 4 x 4 cut into equal parts ( 6 pieces 32 inches roughly).and about 12 pieces of ceder fencing cut to fit. Under the bench is storage and the bottoms come out to fit, uhh coca cola plastic trays ..The misting system is the PVC pipe that hold the shade cloth. Hose connection at the bottom and Im going to drill holes in the PVC and install 16 fine spray nozzles all around that I got from the produce dept at kroger...ooooooooo..dont ask .

I had to come up with something very fast as the mean old sun got some leafs on my big catts and hurt me feelings some. In my ignorance I really felt the am morning direct sun was innocuous. Dont make the same mistake.. It can be brutal and is..I pull the shade cloth down and can clip it onto the bench, OR I can pull the cloth all the way across if I want too..options..Hope you get a grin out of this been a long time since I showed off my ingenuity en masse ITs working great havent had one burn spot since..Now I got to cut some leaves off but only a few not whole burned up plants like happened to me last year.

I have to tell you my jars become boilers in the sun. I watered them when I found they were getting too hot and kid you not these things were steaming..literally steaming..oh nooooooooo.. the jars dont like direct sun but you knew that. We see if any damage occurred in the future. I checked everything and cooled everything down fast but you never know until you know ..

the shade cloth was 14.87 cents on sale at Home depot..The black wasnt on sale but the tan ones were..hmmm..the fittings were about 56 cents each. the hose connection about 6 dollars. The wood about 20 dollars..the PVC free, THE old used nozzles Free. I need one more middle brace and I have to come up with an odd fitting. I might just make a brace and not try to incorporate it into the system. I really just need the support. I dont think the city water is going to give me enough pressure to make it all the way around the unit yet but if it doesnt I Add another hose connection and maybe split the unit in 2. Have fun with your home projects!!!

theres 173 plants on the porch I counted them today

thanks you Ill get it looking better...that was a hurry scurry job...I never left my plants outside for a nice spring so this is all new to me. lots of stuff going inside real soon..its been 80-81 outside and brutally bright all week cept for one rainy day. 85 is tops for me this year with my soft plants. I left lots of stuff outside last year during the late summer and well they got left outside too long. Got racked in 110 degree heat. The big problem on this porch is the back wall, ???? its that hardy plank..concrete boards..they collect the heat and reflect it right back at the plants..that along with the sun brutalized the ones against the wall. I know better now. My neighbors even enjoy my porch too. Got lots of older ladies live there and they just love to come by and talk flowers. They want to buy my plants..I tell em nooooooooo but you can look all you want too .
yeah im having fun for now but I'm little worried about the heat this summer..My whole back room to the porch is empty so I can move inside pretty fast. I think they would prefer the cooler temps and I know they do..everything but the catts, vandas, and, a few oddballs laying around get to stay outside a little longer.

Regardless of the coolness of the setup, that triple blooming alba Psychopsis is awesome!
