Thanks much for the ID help. I had not looked up the Oncidium yet. These Epis (and a few others) are indigenous here and grow profusely all around my place. The Oncidium ornithorhynchum is also indigenous to the region, but much less common in my area.

Several plants with many large spikes now. A couple of these are real beasts, with spikes about 1 meter long. One plant (which has radically overgrown it's pot) has about a dozen spikes.

Hopefully they will bloom soon because we plan to be off cruising by March 1!

Wow! Thanks for posting! It must be fun to have such a great climate for orchids. In Nothern California 45F feels cold. Defintely relative. When I lived in Chicago, that was warm winter day.

We've been in the City for about 5 days -- I am hoping we will have some new blooms when we return.
