Hey Bob :) I must've missed this when you first put the pics up (work demands limit me to flittling on and off at the mo!)

It's intersting that you've staked your amaryllis spikes/ flowers. I used to have loads years ago before I was ill (then, sadly, I had to give them away as I couldn't take care of them), and I never staked them (and some got very tall indeed). Is it because, you want to get them as straight as possible? or is it very windy where you have them? (admittedly, I had mine indoors, so I didn't have to worry about outside conditions)

this one is a little loose in the pot, and the spike was growing forwards, so i wanted it to be straighter. the second one was growing straight by itself

Ooo, gosh, I'd have to look through all my old photo packets (way before digital photos were a possibility!). If they are there, they'll be in the background of other photos. It was always a bit of a game to see how big I could get the bulbs ;) If I'm ever able to dig any out, I'll try and scan them for you

awesome! HOW BIG WOULD YOU SAY THE BIGGEST BULBS WERE? mine is larger than a typical grocery store one, but not huge

Well, I remember one that was bigger than my hands could go around, but I was only 11/12 at the time, so my hands may not have been so big (mind you, they're not huge now.. which does cause problems with my saxophone sometimes!). I could always get them bigger each year which was as much fun for me as the blooms! I haven't grown them since I gave my others away... maybe I should look into getting back to them :) Thanks for the inspiration :)

one has. and two of them dont look so hot. i think its just because i forgot about them. they arent really mine. lol my mums but i think im going to take them in.
