Saving a Phal a la Vanda
When school ended this past summer my wife, a teacher , brought home this really dead looking phal asking me why it looked so bad. I told her I thought it was dead, rotted roots, just miserable. She asked me to revive it and I laughed as I thought she was kidding. So I threw it out and then picked it up and figured it wouldn't hurt to at least let it dry out and hang it like I do the vandas. I figured since they are related it might make it. Well it's been three months now and it has a bunch of new growth. You can see all the dead roots and the new ones, one old, original leaf plus two new leaves. It is hanging under a Phoenix robellini. I guess it may make it after all. What do you think?
