Great plants and I like those pots to. The big vanda that you said wasn't doing much I have one just like it ton's of roots but no blooms. I was told that they need to be higher then there surroundings to bloom. I put mine higher then my house to see if they are right. Its only been there a couple months nothing yet.

Very nice collection! I also have a huge vanda, but no flowers so far. Must be something about these huge vandas that curve at the top.

I bought an ascocentrum miniatum at fairchild too. The blooms have died already and the bottom leaves have turned deep red purple and one has dropped off. The top leaves are nice and green and so are the roots. Is this supposed to happen?? It is not in any medium, its strapped to a palm and gets watered daily. I can't find any info on it though.

Vandas love heaps of sunlight. I have over one thousand of them ranging from 1 inch tall to 3 feet tall.
Slpjennifer, I wouldn't worry too much about your Asco. Vandas and asco. tend to shed their bottom leaves. Just keep splashing water on them and fertilizing them and all should be ok.
Flhiker, my plants hang off poles that are only 8 foot high.....With the length of the hanger, they'd only be four foot off the ground. No problem of flowering here......Only problem I have is that some of the roots are nearly touching the ground.

Thanks. Should I cut the spikes off now that they have finished flowering, or will the sam spikes produce flowers again? I am new at this.
