Glad to hear all P,P &P are safe. That's what matters. The other stuff can be fixed.

Keep us informed on your roof and yard. I'm off the next three days. If you need physical help just reach out. I'll make the time to come. Glad all the P's are good, especially the people and pets. Plants can be replaced.

Being that I now live in part of the east coast "hurricane alley", I have all my plants on rolling shelves, making them easy to relocate for storms and seasonal changes.

Power back on and starting to get things back in order. Im not as tough as I used to be. Was too hot for a few days and made me kind of feel ill. Air conditioning is not a luxury in Texas its a necessity.
I did have my 1st Ichijoara Speckled Bird open up . I tell you about this one later.

thanks for all your replies support and offers of help. its coming along over here. waiting for roofer

The Myrmecophila are covered in ants. Duh they are ant plants!!

The name Myrmecophila is a derivative of the word myrmecophile and refers to the symbiotic relationship with colonies of ants that are usually found living in the large, hollowed-out, banana-like pseudobulbs.

Good to hear. I imagine you have the roof tarped for the time being. Offer stands when work isn't a factor. Keep us informed.

new roof new fence going up. got to move all the plants inside and take the cloth down. dont want them torn up even though he said they would cover them when they do the garage roof. Then they would just burn them up. All inside for a few days when it happens. Going to oil up the cedar siding and re paint the trim. Do some work on the benches. It might be a few months before I see the end result

We have a constant problem with the black dust soot or whatever it is where we live here within the zones of several small chemical plants.

The air isnt bad its just dirty. Going "onyx black" roof and defeat the dirt!!!

Very glad to hear that you, your plants and your pets are all okay. Never fun to have to get the roof replaced after a storm. The orchid flowers are really pretty!

found too much bad wood on the benches. Had to come out and in the trash. Making progress at times isn't pretty.

Goodness I see our OB friends in Florida are having fun now too. I hope they are all safe and dry
