Any ideas/pictures/suggestions/tips on how to hang orchids in the pool enclosure (birdcage) would be very much appreciated. Will be located in SW Florida.

Not sure of best way to do that, but also consider that plants tend to drop stuff... which you don't want in the pool.

You'll need to build something inside. If you make holes in the screen bugs will get in.

Yes, I want to make an orchid section at one end of the cage. Just wondering if anyone’s done it and what they used.
Thanks for your input.

On the assumption that the “bird cage” is built using aluminum channel, I’d contact a place that builds them and see if they have ideas about components that will fit them.

Hi RobinG, I have a section in my cage where I have placed a bar between two brackets attached to the aluminum uprights.
(Keep in mind, I am not an expert in aluminum cages. If you are concerned about the integrity of your cage, consult a professional.)
I used identical plant hangers, with hooks on the ends that are cup shaped and large enough to hold the bar. Then I attached them to adjacent uprights, being careful to match heights. Where I expected more weight, I went all the way through the upright on the top fastener and used a large washer on the outside to distribute the load. The spacing between my uprights is not very wide, if yours are, then you may need another support in the middle to prevent sag.
From the bar, I hang my vandas. I have also run micro sprinklers along the bar to automate watering. Which, of course meant I had to buy more vandas! 😁
