Schomburgkia overnight temperature tolerance

Does anybody know overnight low temperature tolerance for these Schomburgkia species? (Yes, they've been renamed.) I bought them over the past year from Ecuagenera. Some are now rooting for the first time, with swelling eyes.

I might guess they vary since they come from different elevations. We're going to have clear nights in the 40s / 4-10C for a while with sunny days in the 60s F / 15-21C.

Some of them experienced our very hot summers partially outdoors. I brought them into the house when we had nights above freezing in the 30s F / 1-5C, then moved them back onto the patio when it warmed up.

Schom. crispa - low elevation, hot to warm grower

Schom. lueddemanniana - low elevation, hot to warm grower

Schom. rosea - very low elevation, hot grower

Schom. splendida - mid elevation, warm to cool grower

I have L. lueddemanniana and it seems to do OK outdoors for me. So not all that warm. Likely it would do better warmer, but it does grow and sometimes bloom. L. splendida is marginal. It went into decline, and now seems to be doing better since I removed almost all the medium. Schom wallisii (L. colombiana) is doing nicely... got it a couple of years ago, two nice spikes.

My "outside" is more temperate than yours, though. Lows just a bit warmer, highs not as hot.

The other two (Schom. crispa is now L. marginata) and Schom. (L) rosea not a clue, don't have them.

Of your listed species, I only have Laelia splendida. It handles the cooler winters fairly well for me--but that's probably because A) it's dormant at that time, and B) I keep it pretty dry (watering lightly once per month between December and March, when it starts to "wake up"). Judging by the Bakers' cultural sheet, it would probably do much better if I gave it more warmth. Good luck with your plants. I look forward to seeing them as they mature (or did Ecuagenera send large, full-grown plants to you).

My Schomburgkia superbiens has been outside under 43F and is doing fine. I'm having trouble with it growing big all the time actually.

L. superbiens is almost as tough as L. anceps. Mine has tolerated similar temperatures, and lower, for quite a few years. Easily becomes a beast.

I've been keeping most of them outside because days have been in the 60s F / 15-20C and they get dappled winter sun to warm the leaves. But I brought them in last week because we're having nights near freezing. A few plants in the last shipment had cold spots. I'm hopeful they make it because it's been a couple of months and they haven't died. Most arrived with 3-4 mature pseudobulbs and had previously bloomed.

My L. superbiens and L. halbingeriana (closely related anyway) are doing fine outside here in the upper 30s this week.
