While I know the inland climate well (25 years in Pomona area) I wasn't growing orchids then. I know that Cyms can go down to 29 deg F at least but may get bud damage that cold, 32 deg F is OK. (My first orchid was a Cym given to me from someone who lived in Diamond Bar) Take a look at this, from a grower in Solana Beach (coastal but microclimate that gets frost)...
Ice. Aussie Dens and Neofinetia falcata for sure will be fine.
The person you really need to contact is Peter T. Lin of
Diamond Orchids He lives in Diamond Bar, and grows a vast variety of orchids - with lots of AOS awards. Space maxed out. (I know he has such things as Neofinetia falcata and Sophronitis in unheated shadehouses, so they get both winter cold and summer heat) He also sells terrific plants, check out the Vendor Feedback forum.
