Meanwhile, back in the jungle........
Finally back where it's sunny and hot. Great summer in New Hampshire with my few orchids in the basement of the condo but this is what I live for these days. (and the grandkids of course)
It was very hot and wet here from all the reports I've received (and thankfully no "H" storms this year) but that did not prepare me for how much everything has grown.
I tried spreading preen on the pearock in May. Waste of money clearly! And that grass is NASTY. Not sure what it's called but when it's this mature it puts out these nasty little sticker burrs that get into everything, especially bare skin. Over the next couple of days I'll work at getting it cleaned out and take a good inventory of what's happening with all the plants.
Here's a couple of bloomers I just grabbed and moved to porch to deny my iguana friends.
First one is Catt. Portia coerulea 'Mrs. Carl Holmes'. Had it for years and first time I've seen it. I like it. The second is Guarianthe bowringiana. I found a picture of it I had taken exactly 2 years ago when it had 3 growths and 1 spike. Serious growth.
