Yes this is sunburn, but.....

Ok, I got this plant last week, not the healthiest but things happen. After I got it I put it outside for a few days, everything seemed fine, it got full morning sun for just a few hours, it looked as if it was handling it well. Over the weekend the night temps were going to be awfully low so I pulled it in for a few days. Last night I noticed spots on the leaves which honestly looked to me like water had dripped on them, they were indented and discolored. I put it back outside yesterday and this morning the spots are white.... Obviously sun burn. Now here is the question, do you believe the spots were originally the start of sunburn or just an infection like I originally thought that more easily succumbed to burning? Should I pull it back inside? My other dendrobiums, which are in the same area and have been for much longer, are fairing just fine..... Thoughts?

Probably insect damage, not sunburn. Two things lead me there: those patches appear sunken, and the placement of them does not suggest a beam or shaft of sunlight.

I have seen grasshoppers do such damage, as well as caterpillars.
