My Back Yard
Default My Back Yard

A number of years ago, we had a cyclone blow a number of trees down, including a jacaranda. Had to cut the jacaranda in half and gradually lifted the base up. I utilised the timber that was cut off and used some to prop up the main trunk.
Over a few years, I added orchids and a few logs from my mango tree, to enhance the aesthetic look.
The orchids are mainly dendrobiums and cattleyas, with a few arachnis and assorted annuals.

Cheers, Bobj.

One of the good things about my back yard, it backs onto National Park and there are no fences, gates, barbed wire to deter a bloke from going in there and finding the odd log to bring back for an orchid, or two to claim as a home.
Found a few over the years and found one a month ago that I cut to size and 'acclimatised' it in my garden, ready for a phally and a cattleya.
Excuse the blemishes on the photo, been fishing and forgot to wipe off the fish slime...Well, it's a good excuse.

Cheers, Bobj.
