Orchid Bog
As requested, here are some pics of my orchid bog in progress. It's pretty much done from a planting standpoint, I just need to get off my lazy butt and finish the stone work.

Wow that's fun!! It appears you're excavating where there's an old stone foundation? Do you know what was originally there?

I have a few of the bamboo orchids in here too that might be shooting up leaves but i am not sure as they are all new to me

Wish I had that kind of climate and space - lovely!
So much work, and paid off beautifully. Bogs are lovely.

I wish I could grow all those terrestrial orchids that I mentioned practically carefree in the ground! We always want most what we can't have, don't we?

I found them on eBay, carnivorous plants online and one other place I can’t remember right now

ALWAYS... it's like a law of the universe, lol.
I used to live by a marshland with drosera and pals by the thousands - Mum was doing an environmental course at the time and we trekked out with a friend who had one of those super-zoom set ups, being a professional photographer.
That was one of the best days ever, finding all the beautiful life - we also found an echidna and quite a few endangered species of plants. So we never told anyone where exactly we'd been, except the university.
People didn't go much, as it was dangerous if you didn't take care. I'll have to go back through the photos and look for orchids - 30 years ago, now!
