...and more new finds...Im discovering there are quite a few epiphytes in the fields behind my house...didnt notice till the terrestrials lost their blooms...now that Im looking purposefully for epiphytes Im finding many. Mostly new to me species that I have no IDed yet.

I just noticed the first one has a ton of seed pods hanging on it and they're just about ripe. Might be worthwhile to grab one and have it flasked. |

20180816_120004 is some sort of Prosthechea based on its growth habit and the shape of the seed pods.

Here in the Chirqui Highlands, E. Radicans is very common...have some growing in my yard in fact. Pretty too, a nice photo subject. Some images attached. One is "imaged stacked" so that most of the flower cluster is in focus.

Great finds! [Shameless plug incoming] You should post these (and any others you find) on iNaturalist (a citizen science/nature observation website). We have a fairly active orchid community there and would love to see and ID your finds! Plus it would contribute to the growing repository of orchid data on the site as well!

Good idea. I could cross post some there. I have been using iNaturalist for ID'ing insects. |

I would not post the locations of wild orchids on the internet because i bet they will be gone pretty soon, nice photos by the way. I wish Miami had preserved more native orchid habitat.
