Default What is around Cancún?

Thinking of visiting the eastern Yucatán Peninsula. ¿Does anybody know how I could arrange to see orchids in habitat somewhere in the range Cancún - Playa del Carmen - Tulúm - Cobá?

Yes, it's project Trvl-Sp-16, you just need to make your own travel and hotel arrangements.

Friend and I just went around ourselves... I saw schoms (whatever they're called now) in trees practically shaded! (didn't see other orchids that I recall, but I was looking at other plants)

My concern is staying safe. I've been to Cobá and looked around, but the forest is pretty tall, with first branching high, and I didn't see any orchids. Rhyncholaelia digbyana is supposed to be there.

Yeah, probably not a good idea to go around yourself... I was just mentioning what I did, reminiscing as it were... and we were probably a bit drunk (my god, tequila shots are so cheap at ruins set for tourists!)

I know, not a useful post... hopefully someone has good ideas for orchid tours there...

I heard somewhere that around Cancun the worst enemy for humans are other humans.
