I am very surprised to have received a warning for this post from MrOrchidguy for "insulting other member".

I pointed out that it is not so "high level knowledge" for an orchid fan to know that Cattleya are New world orchids (likewise you don't find Vandas or Phalaenopsis wild in South America).

It has been reversed as the moderators didn't feel it to be an offensive comment at all.

Sorry orchidfred
You told thats a new world orchid right, yes it is but there are also non native species and it could be a cattleya or anything that resemble cattleya and by saying that it makes me look like a troll

OP is Original Poster - in this case you - thanks for posting the pics, could you take some pics next time you are out collecting. It would be great to see them growing in situ, how they grow naturally. All the orchids I see grow in pots!

Just curious... So even though you've been told that it's illegal according to the laws of Malaysia to go out and collect such plants, your still going to collect them anyways? Why bother asking then? So others could condone what your doing? In my mind, if you asked you must have had some idea that it's WRONG!

Shame on you! And shame on some others who are encouraging you to do so. It's because of actions like this that these laws are put in place, to PROTECT the plants

Sure hope that the next plant you collect isn't the last of its species.

Judi

And I'll take my strike for being rude, but you deserved this.
