Default Eltroplectris calcarata





The critically endangered Spurred Neottia/Longclaw Orchid (Eltroplectris calcarata) -- closeup, taken in the wilds of south Florida where it resides in rockland hammocks. The flowers are roughly two inches from sepal-tip to sepal-tip when spread out, making it one of the larger individual orchid flowers in our state.

Interesting flowers though would be easy to miss them amongst the other plants in their habitat.
