Here are a couple of images of what I think is Piperia michaelii. I would welcome any opinions on my ID. I sent the images to Bob Lauri, but have not heard anything back yet. It it is this species, then it is an official "CA native rare species".
The plant was not in best shape, infested with aphids, but could still be a cool record. It was found around San Luis Obispo, CA, in oakwood chaparral. Don't bother looking for exif geo data, there are none.
