South East Asia 2012 part II
Default South East Asia 2012 part II

After visiting Mt Victoria at Palawan island, the Philippines we continued our trip at the second and third highest mountains of Borneo: Mt Trus Madi and Mt Tambuyukon.
For most of these orchids I have not yet succeeded to identify them, so any help is welcome.
One or two are probably photographed on both mountaiins.

First we climbed Mt Tambuyukon

Let's continue with Mt Trus Madi.
The first, small and inconspicuous orchid grew on a more open area:

The others grew much closer to the summit, with one exception: a Corybas orchid (excuses for the poor picture)

Dendrochilum sp. (?)

A small epiphyte:

And another one:

One of the Coelogyne species in the cloudforest:

Coelogyne pailosa (?), not the most brilliant photo....

And an orchid with a massive inflorescence close to the summit:

One of the more common species along the trail:

Spathoglottis aurea:

To finalize: on a open area covered with gravel and grasses I found this really tall fellow (the precise height I do not remeber, but probably at least one meter high). I am not sure whether this is an orchid or not.

The end...
Hope you enjoyed

Very interesting plants, thanks for sharing!
The pictures 1,2,4,5,6 look very much like Coelogyne species, 5 and 6 looking very much like Coelogyne odoardii.

Bet the leeches bit. But worth it. I can't recognise the Trichotosia in the middle - T. ferox virescens??
