Talking Wild Cypripedium Acaules in NH

Ever since I found out these orchids grow here I've been hoping to see one... Didn't think I actually would as the word is they're pretty rare, and finding info on where they grow exactly is tough. But there I was, wandering along in the woods, when I stumbled on about ten of them right alongside the trail. So cool! Anyway, here they are.

And sorry for the poor quality - all I had was my phone. I'll try to get back there with a real camera.

Awesome. Appearantly there are more young plants next to the flowering ones. I also love to get an impression of the habitat.

Great find!!! If you do end up going back, try pollinating them. I've heard less than 5% get pollinated naturally in the wild. I believe we would all love to see more of these little gems in our woods.

Nice! We used to have these in my backyard growing up in Maine just along the edge of the woods.
