Hello. First post here. I saw some cypripediums last year in august. Im fairly sure they were the aucaules. Id really like to see the blooming and they are about 2 hours away from my house so i was wondering if anyone knows when they bloom in the southern Pennsylvania/northern Maryland area?
thanks in advance

Also does anyone know how long they typically stay in bloom for?
I'm not sure but various of my cypripediums are forming buds now in the UK and I know JohnBlagg from this forum has some cyps in flower now somewhere in the US that he bought recently.
I probably all depends on conditions for exactly when they might bloom, but Cyps do bloom in the spring. They tend to be later if the spring is cold, and sooner if the spring is warmer. I have one that flowered very early because I kept it in my greenhouse, my others are perhaps running a little late because of the cold spring we had here in the UK.
Hi,
I'm sure it can't be that different from here in NYC. On Long Island, they will bloom in mid May.
Up in the Adirondacks, they are in bloom in mid June. I'm guessing your climate is somewhere in between.
