Yes, I see they've recently released tons of new L lenses. Costs have shot up. That said, the price of a 100mm f2.8 IS L is pretty close to the MP-E 65mm (the 1-5x macro lens), which would be a fun, fun thing to own.

Thanks Ashley and Leaf. Things are always so much better "in person," otherwise I guess it'd be enough just to sit home and look at pictures, but I'm off to more hiking and orchid hunting tomorrow.
