I've taken pictures of about 18-20 different species here in Michigan and generally use Fred Case's book (Orchids of The Western Great Lakes Region) as a reference . Unfortunately, they were all taken before the advent of digital photography and I haven't found anyone nearby that can transfer them to digital.

Are they slides or photos? I transferred all my slides some years ago using a relatively inexpensive slide scanner which I resold when I was finished.

They are all slides, but in a 2¼ x 2¼ format (Mamiya twin lens reflex using Ecktachrome 160 balanced for 3200k). I would imagine that a conversion device for this format vs 35mm would be more expensive.

It probably would be, but what a shame that they cannot be used in a digital format.

I did an online search of companies that do slide conversion. The cheapest I found for medium format film seems to be Larson Digital. Their price for the lowest resolution (1000DPI) was $1.10/slide. It get's expensive in a hurry with all the slides I've got.

Wow! I guess so! When I converted mine I used a Minolta slide scanner that cost me about $250, but was able then to do all the slides myself. That was 35mm, though.
